Towed watermaker

Watermaker output

Water output in Liters per hour

The average person requires about 2.3 Liters of drinking water per day.

                                              Vessel speed in knots

Note: At speeds above 8 knots, the output will vary depending on the wake of the vessel, sea state, and other factors.

The graph is representative of test results obtained from a wide variety of vessel types on passage, both power and sail. Higher and lower outputs have been measured by independent observers so may not be typical. Maximum noted by manufacturer. The output is proportional to the speed of the vessel, the sea state, wake etc., and is modified by the the total dissolved solids in the source water, the temperature of the water, the standard of cleanliness maintained of the filters and membrane element, the wake pattern of the vessel, its point of sail and other factors. Accordingly, the graph is intended as a guide, however it does not form part of any warranty.

Note: On deploying the watermaker in the sea, it will take some time for drinking water to appear at the tow tube / output tube on board the vessel as the unit and the whole length of the tow tube must first fill with water. The time taken will be inversely proportional to the speed of the vessel. This time factor is not included in the above chart.
