Technical information and statutory notice:
Cookies and your statutory right to notification.
All of the Waterlog websites contain cookies, as do the majority of up-to-date modern Internet domains. This is a formal notification in compliance with the legislation regulating electronic communication that took effect on July 1st. 2003. In addition to the protection of the privacy and identity of persons, a section of this legislation also requires any company using cookies on their websites to inform visitors of this fact and describe how cookies are being used on their site.
Cookies can be used in many ways and for various purposes.
Waterlog uses cookies in two different ways:
1/ The first type of cookie is the simplest. This tool makes each website viewer
unique, so the Waterlog web server can technically recognize and differentiate
between one viewer and another and transmit the correct information. For
example, some pages are specific to the area of the world where the visitor is
based - an illustration of this may be weights and measures, some visitors may
use Metric and others may use Imperial measurements. This type
of cookie is not saved on the viewer's hard disk but is saved on the Waterlog
database. The company will know the identity of your computer, your geographic
area, the type of computer you have and other technical information. Disabling cookies on
your computer does not stop the gathering of this data. Waterlog does not
divulge any of this information to any other party. It is not shared, disclosed,
sold or otherwise utilized, other than to facilitate efficient company Internet
traffic management and provide the best possible Internet experience for the
visitor. The data does not, and cannot, contain any viewer-related personal
information
2/ The second type is a cookie that is used by Waterlog is designed to ensure
accurate visitor statistics. This tiny cookie is stored on the viewer's computer
but does not contain any personal viewer-related information, only software technical information.
The benefit for the company is that more accurate web pages can be served to the
viewer, and the benefit for the viewer is that the web pages can be delivered
faster with less waiting time for loading. This cookie information will not, and in fact cannot,
reveal personal data about the viewer and it cannot be used
for any marketing purposes, or be sold, exchanged, or otherwise passed on to a third party.
End.
